API Quality and Accountability

About the talk:

APIs are becoming increasingly important, as they are powering everything from simpler Weather apps to large-scale space exploration projects like SpaceX. Producing high-quality APIs and continuously evolving them over time is crucial for the success of any business.

Let’s understand how to scale such an API platform to cover a large portfolio of APIs across an enterprise. When implemented correctly, this system is capable of producing APIs reliably and continuously improve their quality with the help of a feedback-driven system that puts developers in the center and in control. In particular, I will focus on the accountability aspect of API quality, which is often overlooked but critical to building trust and transparency among API developers, leaders and even executives. By implementing a feedback-driven system that puts developers in control of API quality, businesses can ensure that their APIs are meeting consumer needs and expectations. This, in turn, can lead to increased adoption, customer satisfaction, and ultimately, greater business success.
