From Chaos to Clarity: AI for API Docs

In many teams, the path from product idea to API documentation spans multiple worlds. Product managers capture requirements in tools like Confluence or Notion, while engineers define structured specifications in Postman or Swagger. Designers, if involved, think in workflows rather than endpoints. Somewhere between these worlds, consistency, structure, and discoverability often get lost.
This talk explores how Generative AI can bridge those gaps, helping mixed teams co-create and govern API specifications and documentation without forcing everyone to become OpenAPI experts.

Rose Missier, is a seasoned technology leader whose career spans Product, Software Engineering, API strategy, developer experience, and applied AI. With global experience across ANZ, India, and the US, Rose has helped organisations transform the way they design and deliver software including APIs at scale.
Known for her ability to bring clarity to complex technical ecosystems, Rose has led teams through major shifts - from modernising developer tooling to building API golden paths and shaping organisation-wide strategies for gateways. Her current work at Samvit Software Solutions and Xero sits at the intersection of engineering excellence, AI-assisted workflows, and human-centred design.
In her spare time, Rose is also a writer, mentor, and educator who turns complexity into clarity. She’s known for uniting tech, product, and creative disciplines, and in this talk she shows why that blend of skills is now essential for making sense of API documentation in an AI-driven, cross-functional world.
